It's clear when speaking to Boyd Owen that he is in a word ‘passionate' about music and especially the voice. If his audiences to date are anything to go by, Boyd is at the beginning of a very exciting career. His voice is a rich mixture of emotion, powerful lyricism and strong musical intelligence. At a young age Boyd Owen has already amassed a considerable amount of experience as a performer in areas as diverse as music theatre, dance, drama, instrumental and classical performance - working with some of Australia and the world's top artists. A gifted pianist, vocalist and dancer, Boyd has also had considerable experience as a teacher, running his own studio - New Song.
Boyd has returned from performing in the USA; making his New York debut in the workshop for a new Broadway musical called Angels and understudying Tito in a production of Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito at a music festival in Indiana.
Boyd was also involved with the 2006 Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony; as part of a small ensemble backing acts such as John Farnham, Ben Lee, Sarah Blasco and Dame Edna Everadge.
Songno is Boyd’s most ambitious work to date. Produced from start to finish, including all composition, recording and post production, in only 2.5 months; Songno boasts a stellar line up of performers, composers and producers.
More recently Boyd has received further acclaim as one of 'The Ten Tenors' and participated in their extensive international tours.
